Providing primary health care for Leek and the surrounding areas, Leek Health Centre sought our help to fix issues with door sensors that needed modernising and upgrading.

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Repair
We were asked to carry out some PPM on two Besam sliding doors as there had been a health and safety incident with a patient being hit by a sliding door. Our qualified engineers attended the site and carried out compliance checks on the automatic door system. They identified that the ‘on door’ safety had failed and required upgrading with new sensors.

What We Did
Our engineers liaised with the administration staff onsite and advised that the door shouldn’t be used on automatic settings until the repair had been completed. A quote was provided the same day, and the repair was agreed with the client. Our engineers returned with the new sensors to complete the repair at the agreed time. All upgrades were completed, along with compliance checks to ensure the automatic door system was safe and compliant with EN 16005.
The client was happy with our services and has signed up for a bi-annual PPM agreement for all their health centres in the area.
